Katie Gill - singer/songwriter

Katie Gill graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM where she earned a Bachelor of Music with Vocal Performance emphasis. She has been performing professionally since she was in high school, performing in hotels, restaurants, nightclubs, craft fairs, concerts and private parties.

Her unique and versatile voice spans folk, pop, country, rock, and jazz.

She has worked as a soloist accompanying herself on the guitar, as well as being involved in numerous groups and bands playing a variety of genres where she played both guitar and bass. She does most of the vocal and musical arranging in her bands.

Her voice has been heard on jingles for radio and television throughout the US. Her formal vocal training has allowed her to appear in both opera and light opera productions in New York City and in New Mexico.

Katie has opened up for national acts such as Rita Coolidge, Wynonna Judd, Asleep at the Wheel, Michael Martin Murphy, Rosanne Cash and Ricky Skaggs. She played rhythm guitar for Junior Brown and sang back up vocals with Nancy Griffith. She has also shared the stage with Chuck Pyle, Jack Williams, Hot Club of Cowtown, Bill Hearne, Michael Hearne and Daniel Boling.

Katie’s songwriting capabilities manifested in high school and since then she has gained numerous awards for her singing and writing talents. A big feather in her cap was competing and winning her way up to representing New Mexico in the National Wrangler Country Star Search in Nashville which was nationally televised.

She has been on local television stations and appeared on a TV pilot of the Scott Connor Show performing her original music from her first album.

Katie continues to delight with her energy and talents. Her performances are always a unique and soulful conversation with her audiences. She has been given stellar reviews and has always received enthusiastic “welcome backs” everywhere she's played.
